Aw, your rats are really beautiful. Especially the lovely blazed fellow in the top corner (Sofia?). My rats do the exact same thing... as soon as I walk into the room, they demand to know if I have treats for them! Although if I don't, some petting and tickling will work, too.
Yeah, it started with one that someone pawned off me because she had a litter of babies and ate them D: It wasn't her fault, though.. the girl let her kids move her around and everything during pregnancy, so she didn't feel she had a safe place for her babies. It freaked out the owner though, so she got rid if the rat.. then I got 2 friends for her to live with since they like to live with company, then someone else gave me another, ha.
It could probably work if you had some kind of setup to house all the babies afterward. I talked to someone at Petco when we adopted Snowflake, and she said that when a female breeds she can actually have several litters after that, from just one breeding. If that's true then that would be a lot of babies! lol! But I used to know someone who bred them and she never complained of being overwhelmed or anything.
Ah, jeez. I never knew they could have more than one litter from one breeding. I actually decided to breed her because I'm confident I can handle it. :3 I guess we'll see if she has multiple litters, ha. That'd be interesting.
